Daniel Valenzuela Encourages Open Debate on Critical Issues Facing Maricopa County District 3
Daniel Valenzuela, candidate for Maricopa County Supervisor, District 3, expressed disappointment over his opponent Kate Brophy McGee's decision to decline the invitation for the Clean Elections' General Election Debate for Maricopa County District 3 Supervisor candidates, scheduled for September 12. Valenzuela believes this choice deprives voters of a crucial opportunity to understand the candidates' positions on important issues.
"Debates are vital for informed voting, especially when personality politics often overshadow substantive discussions," said Valenzuela. "It’s concerning that my opponent has chosen to remain silent on issues that matter to our community."
Valenzuela emphasized his commitment to transparency and public discourse. "Throughout this campaign, I've been engaging with residents across District 3, listening to their concerns, and discussing solutions. It’s disappointing that Kate Brophy McGee is avoiding this essential conversation."
As a lifelong public servant, former two-term Phoenix City Councilmember, and retired firefighter, Valenzuela highlighted his track record of addressing tough challenges directly. "I’ve been going door to door, listening to voters, and they deserve to hear from both candidates."
He extends an invitation to Brophy McGee to debate on other platforms. "For our democracy to function properly, voters must be well-informed. Election debates are crucial to this process."
"I urge Mrs. Brophy McGee to reconsider and participate in these debates. The voters of District 3 deserve to hear where we both stand on critical issues like a woman’s freedom to choose, protecting our democracy, public safety, and economic development. Let’s give them the opportunity to make an informed decision."
